I communicate to you the translation of a letter[6] received from the
representatives of Spain here in reply to that of the Secretary of State to them of the 21st instant, which had before been communicated to you. Go. WASHINGTON. [Footnote 6: Relating to affairs with Indians on the southern frontier.] UNITED STATES, _December 31, 1793_. _Gentlemen of the Senate and of the House of Representatives_: I now lay before you a letter from the Secretary of State, with his account of the expenditure of the moneys appropriated for our intercourse with foreign nations from the 1st of July, 1792, to the 1st of July, 1793, and other papers relating thereto. Go. WASHINGTON. UNITED STATES, _January 6, 1794_. _Gentlemen of the Senate_: I herewith transmit the copy of a letter from the Secretary of War, stating the circumstances which have hitherto prevented any explanation of the fourth article of the treaty with the Wabash Indians. |
