One teaspoonful of nutmeg, Two yolks of eggs, One teaspoonful of vanilla extract, Two-thirds cup of sugar. Beat to cream and then fill into the oblong cheese-cake pan, which has been lined with plain pastry. Bake in a slow oven for thirty minutes. SOFT CHOCOLATE COOKIES One-half cup of brown sugar, One-half cup of syrup, Six tablespoons of shortening, One egg. Cream and then add One-half cup of cocoa, One-half cup of milk, Two teaspoons of baking powder, Four cupfuls of flour, One teaspoon of cinnamon. Work to a dough and then roll, cut and bake in a moderate oven for eight minutes. Cool and cover with a damp cloth for three minutes. Store in an air-tight container. |
