and will bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael,
because Yahweh has heard your affliction. 016:012 He will be like a wild donkey among men. His hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him. He will live opposite all of his brothers." 016:013 She called the name of Yahweh who spoke to her, "You are a God who sees," for she said, "Have I even stayed alive after seeing him?" 016:014 Therefore the well was called Beer Lahai Roi.{Beer Lahai Roi means "well of the one who lives and sees me."} Behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered. 016:015 Hagar bore a son for Abram. Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael. 016:016 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram. 017:001 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to Abram, and said to him, "I am God Almighty. Walk before me, and be blameless. 017:002 I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly." 017:003 Abram fell on his face. God talked with him, saying, 017:004 "As for me, behold, my covenant is with you. You will be the father of a multitude of nations. 017:005 Neither will your name any more be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. 017:006 I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you. Kings will come out of you. 017:007 I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you. |
